Mary Jemison: Livingston County’s Iconic ‘White Woman of the Genesee’ – Oliver Bickel

Saturday, February 1st - THIS IS A REPEAT OF JANUARY 25TH PROGRAM

In addition to recounting the often dramatic elements of her life story, this presentation will discuss what it was about Mary Jemison that makes her not only such a uniquely interesting figure in the history of Livingston County but, over 250 years later, a continuing inspirational icon for so many people in the United States and beyond. Cheese Factories in Livingston County – Jane Oakes

There's a hidden history behind some of the buildings you pass by in Livingston County- once they were cheese factories! Come learn about them and how the men and women who ran them made cheese from pioneer times to the present. Hear about the “Ashantee Method,” our Italian cheese makers, where our cheese factories were located, and why they eventually closed. Registration is Required.

Attic Treasures Sale

Shop at the Attic Treasures Sale for quality, vintage, and one-of-a-kind items. Most sale items will be indoors ,with some larger items outside near vendors. All proceeds support the Livingston County Museum.

 

A New Folk Museum Opera “Wine & War”

Come lend your voice to this new project, exploring how we tell our own story. New York State’s first commercial winery was born in York NY, before the Civil War. The story is steeped in the beauty of wine and the tragedy of veterans coming home from war.
