In addition to recounting the often dramatic elements of her life story, this presentation will discuss what it was about Mary Jemison that makes her not only such a uniquely interesting figure in the history of Livingston County but, over 250 years later, a continuing inspirational icon for so many people in the United States and beyond. Cheese Factories in Livingston County – Jane Oakes

Come learn about them and how the men and women who ran them made cheese from pioneer times to the present. Hear about the “Ashantee Method,” our Italian cheese makers, where our cheese factories were located, and why they eventually closed. Registration is Required.
